Shawn Siegele ranks every team in the NFL and provides a deep breakdown for fantasy managers and reality enthusiasts alike.
Apologies for getting the Banana Stand out a day late this week. My Week 12 concept ended up being a two-parter, and even splitting it resulted in a bigger project than I anticipated.
Having closed on the dynasty trade deadline — updated rankings are ready for those last-minute moves — and the final week of the FFPC redraft regular season, I wanted to reset myself on where every NFL team is today. Rankings are always fun, but because you only get 32 through 17 this week, it’s mostly the RotoVizian element that will appeal.
Using Blair’s Advanced Matchup tool that you can peruse each week in his Rankings and Projections article, I tried to understand the story of each franchise’s season. Each team traverses a different path and following this narrative led me to the Game Splits tool, Weekly Explorer, NFL Player Explorer, RotoViz Screener, Team Splits, NFL Pace tool, Strength of Schedule Streamer, and more.
As frequent listeners and long-time readers will know, I watch every game every week, but it’s not realistic to believe that you can process, much less catalog and remember, the nuances of every play. This type of calibration exercise is helpful in my personal process as I get ready for the fantasy playoffs. I always learn a lot and have a blast.
Let’s jump in.
Ranking Every Team from 32 to 17 (With Stats!)
I perused a ton of information on each team that didn’t make it into the article. This is my attempt to tell the clearest story and distill the most important information. Thanks to all of our great developers over the years, there are some pretty cool images too.
