I’d never heard of Momah before his name showed up in one of the articles in the daily link dump. After 10 minutes of research I can report that he is a guy I’ll end up monitoring just because of his crazy physical attributes, even though it seems like his odds of ever playing are somewhere between slim and none.
First, the good news. Momah is apparently 6-7, 240 pounds and runs a 4.45 40 yard dash. That’s exciting. Here’s a youtube clip of a workout.
Now for the bad news. Momah is going to be 24 during the upcoming season, averaged less than 30 yards per game receiving over his college career at Boston College (where he played defensive end, tight end and wide receiver), and is buried on the Ealges depth chart.
There is one tiny piece of production information that would give hope as to Momah’s potential and that is a game vs. Northwestern (the only one he played that year before tearing his ACL) in which he had a pretty impressive line. Momah caught 8 passes for 171 yards in that game.
Also interesting to me is that Momah looks a lot stronger in that workout than he does in the picture of him in his BC uniform. So maybe he bulked up after he tore his ACL in ’11.
