Odell Beckham, Mike Evans, and the RotoViz Rookie Composite Rankings

The rankings in the table below are the result of 15 RotoViz writers organizing the 2014 rookie class based on where they would draft them in dynasty rookie drafts. We’ve written a lot of articles and pored over these rookies with an obsession that would probably weird out even the creeps that go stare at horses in the paddock before making a $2 bet1. If you have a question as to why a player was ranked where they were, you have a few options. You might try the sidebar search and look for articles about that player. You can also post a comment and we’ll try to get to it within reason. In the past we’ve highlighted articles that formed our thinking but in this case it might be 3 or 4 articles per player multiplied by 30-40 players that we’ve covered, so it didn’t seem feasible. For primers on the individual positions you can check out our pre-draft positional rankings, which can be found at this page.

Using the rankings of each writer, and applying a simple scoring system that rewards a player for more positive ranks, we can also get tiers out of this exercise. The following graph shows rough tiers based on using the x axis as the Composite Rank, and the y axis as the Composite Score.

I’m sure the various writers will be chiming in over the next few days to note where the Wisdom of the Crowd has screwed up these ranks, but until then, I give you the Composite Rookie Rankings:

The rankers are: FD = Fantasy Douche, DM = Davis Mattek, JM2 = Jake Myers, MF = Matthew Freedman, JW = Justin Winn, SS = Shawn Siegele, JMo = Jon Moore, SS2 = Scott Smith, RL = Ryan Lessard, JT = James Todd, RE = Ross Eagles, WTF = Whisky Tango Foxtrot, ZD = Zach Dietz, BF = Bryan Fontaine, CR = the Composite Ranking

Why You Should Buy High on Deebo Samuel

Roster management has quickly become one of my favorite aspects of dynasty football. The concept of running a team year-round, crafting it and tweaking it to my liking, and scoring big on off-season trades is just as fun as the in-season thrill of weekly matchups. I am working on being
