There were only a few more obvious dot connections in this past draft cycle than attaching a tight end to the Indianapolis Colts, preferably the earlier in the draft, the better. The team obliged by using the 14th overall selection on Tyler Warren out of Penn State. But does this selection automatically mean fantasy fortune and glory await Warren and those who draft him?
Athletic Profile
Penn State has developed a justified reputation for sending athletic marvels into the NFL. The eye test would seem to suggest that Warren is no exception. However, we have only the eye test to go on. Warren did not participate in any athletic testing during the draft cycle. This is entirely his right, of course. Still, it makes comparing him to other players jolly difficult.
Still, it is interesting that, of the few measurables for which we have actual numbers, he is quite similar to Dallas Goedert, at least from a height and weight point of view. This comparison might be interesting later on, but you’ll have to read on to find out why.
