This is the first installment of a weekly series where RotoViz writers react to something they saw from the last week of NFL action that took them completely by surprise. They will then follow on with their predictions for something they DO expect to see in the coming week of action. Week 1 of the 2025 season saw some weird stuff, so there should be plenty to talk about.
Let’s get into it.
I Did Not See That Coming
Mat Irby – Keon Coleman Level Up
A year ago, Keon Coleman lined up wide on 87.9% of snaps (3rd), posted a 15.4 aDOT (8th), but managed only a 16% market share and ranked 68th in EP/G. That’s the profile of a field stretcher — a Marquez Valdes-Scantling/Alec Pierce archetype — not the kind of usage that consistently pays off in fantasy. Add in a middling college profile, and Coleman was a tough click for me, even as a second-year WR with good draft capital slipping into the eighth round.
