Kevin Szafraniec outlines the best waiver wire pickups for fantasy leagues heading into Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.
The in-season content is back in full swing as we get ready to head into Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season. While there were not necessarily any Week 1 explosions a la Puka Nacua circa 2023, the opening weekend of NFL action did provide us with some noteworthy games from low-owned players.
Perhaps no position was hit harder with injuries than tight end, as all of Brock Bowers, George Kittle, and Evan Engram finished their 2025 debuts on the sidelines. While Bowers is expected to be okay moving forward, multi-week absences from Kittle and Engram could have fantasy managers scrambling for replacements heading into the second week of the season. Luckily for them, multiple young options at the position had the look of stars in Week 1, including none other than RotoViz offseason favorite Harold Fannin Jr.
Before we dive into the players, just a few reminders about how the article is set up:
- To be included as a potential add, a player must be rostered in 50% or less of ESPN or Yahoo leagues
- To be included as a potential drop, a player must be rostered in more than 50% of ESPN or Yahoo leagues
- FAAB recommendations will be given but also serve as tiers for leagues without FAAB budgets. The rationale behind FAAB recommendations is: If I had $1,000 in FAAB, what is the absolute most I’d be willing to spend on this player?
- All positional rankings and statistics are taken from RotoViz’s Monday Review tool.
