For those who are unfamiliar, Little Giants is a cinematic masterpiece, released circa 1994. It is a classic underdog story featuring two titans of the screen, Rick Moranis and Ed O’Neill. In the film, Moranis leads an overlooked band of underachievers on a peewee football team after the entire group failed to make the cut for his brother’s powerhouse Cowboys squad. ***SPOILER ALERT*** As you might guess, Moranis’ underdog Giants end up pulling out the victory over the heavily favored Cowboys, turning many of the attributes that were once seen as weaknesses into strengths.
Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season featured some Little Giants of its own. Whether these players and teams were small in terms of success, stature, or both, Sunday provided them an opportunity to change the narrative moving forward. And not a single one needed to break out “The Annexation of Puerto Rico.” Now that’s impressive.
