For the most part, Sunday’s games went as expected. Jonathan Taylor led the charge as the Colts absolutely annihilated the Titans in Indianapolis. The Bills made short work of the Andy Dalton-led Panthers. Saquon Barkley put together yet another revenge game against his former team as the Eagles made up for a bad loss at MetLife Stadium two weeks ago. Baker Mayfield did not need to play like an MVP to get past the Saints, and the Packers buried Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night.
Still, there were a few games that delivered surprising outcomes, thanks in large part to some of the league’s worst defenses providing floundering offenses a chance to hit their stride. But it remains to be seen whether these down-on-their-luck franchises will be able to carry the positive momentum forward when they face tougher matchups further down the line.
