In the Banana Stand’s “What I learned from a complete history of my RV TriFlex squads,” Shawn Siegele goes back to the beginning, breaking down every team’s path to help readers evaluate the RotoViz philosophies of Perpetual Reloading and the Permanent Championship Window. Will the RV signature strategy help you build league-winning dynasty rosters?
A couple of weeks ago, I profiled the five FFPC Main Event teams that had qualified directly into the Sprint by virtue of scoring the most points (3), having the best record (1), or both (1). Those teams finished with two titles, a second, and two third-place finishes during the league playoffs. (A.J. Brown’s failure to catch a perfectly thrown TD pass kept us from winning a third title and sweeping Week 14.) Having our rosters go 3-2 in the semifinals and 4-1 in the final week is certainly exciting as we head into the Big Dance and chase the $1 million crown.
As successful as the redraft season has been — and it’s our fifth standout campaign in the last six years — the dynasty teams have done significantly better.
Earlier this season I published a free look at the 2024 season, The RotoViz Dynasty Blueprint — Always Reloading, Always in the Window. Last year, our FFPC portfolio of nine teams finished with five titles, a second, and a third.
Only one team missed the playoffs, and that squad won the backdraw to earn the 1.01. Because of our Perpetual Reloading approach that aims to keep the Championship Window open permanently, that was only the start.
- The Swearengen Solution (with Bjorn): Won the 2024 title, earned the 2025 No. 1 seed
- No I in Teamocil (with Monty): Won the 2024 title, earned the 2025 No. 2 seed
- RotoViz (with Curtis): Won the 2024 title, earned the 2025 No. 2 seed
- Destiny Is All (with Pat): Won the 2023 title, earned the 2025 No. 1 seed
- Vantasner Danger Meridian (with Blair): Finished 3rd in 2024, earned the 2025 No. 1 seed
- World Burner (Solo): Won the 2024 title, qualified for playoffs
- Uncle Colm and the Spanish Armada (with Colm): Won the 2024 title, qualified for the playoffs
- Tactical Turtle (with Ben): Qualified for the playoffs
- Seamus Was Framed (with Colm): This former orphan didn’t have our startup strategy and was the only squad to miss playoffs
In today’s exercise, I’m taking a deep dive into the TriFlex teams and looking to both understand and describe their trajectories. For new dynasty managers or those looking to up their game, this exercise helps you understand the strengths and weaknesses of the approach. Just as Zero RB was always a great way to play redraft — but never the only way — Perpetual Reloading may be the key that turns your dynasty portfolio into a money machine. Or it may not fit your strengths and preferences.
Let’s dive in.
