Players drafted on Day 3 and beyond rarely find much fantasy relevance. Yet there have been a handful of recent undrafted free agent running backs to make some noise in the NFL. Some of the biggest UDFA RB hits include Priest Holmes, Arian Foster, LeGarrette Blount, Austin Ekeler, James Robinson, Thomas Rawls, and Phillip Lindsay. It’s an uphill battle to gain fantasy relevance for these UDFA RBs, but occasionally, players overlooked in the NFL draft have a surprising impact on both reality and fantasy teams. Are there are any UDFA RBs with this sort of upside in the 2025 class?
Lan Larison, RB, NE
Last season, we had Dylan Laube. This year, it’s Lan Larison. Most mock drafts had Larison as a UDFA coming out of UC Davis. Larison had eye-popping production metrics — he trailed only Bhayshul Tuten and Omarion Hampton in RB Dominator (among drafted RBs) while tying with Kaleb Johnson. Larison was the focal point of the Aggies’ offense, as their leading rusher and receiver. He posted the highest receiving yardage market share (RecYdMS) among the 2025 rookie running back class, tying him with. Cam Skattebo.
Larison’s top comps, according to the Box Score Scout, are Blake Watson and Deuce Vaughn, both of whom were similarly productive as rushers and receivers in college.
