PGA DFS: Arnold Palmer Invitational Course Preview and Trends

We’re staying down in Florida for another week as the tour heads from PGA National to Bay Hill Club and Lodge. The Arnold Palmer Invitational has been held at Bay Hill – under many names – dating back to 1979. It’s a par 72 course that plays right around 7,400 yards. We’re looking at Tifeagle Bermudagrass greens this week. Over the past five years, the course has been anywhere from the ninth to the 28th most difficult course on Tour with winning scores ranging from 11-under to 19-under…....

PGA DFS: Top Plays, GPP Pivots, and Ownership Projections for The Honda Classic

PGA National’s Champions course will play host, once again, to the Honda Classic. The course is a par 70 that plays a little over 7,100 yards depending on the setup. The course features TifEagle Bermudagrass greens. For more info on how the course has played historically, check out yesterday’s article…....

PGA DFS: The Honda Classic Course Preview and Trends

The Tour is heading back to the states to Florida for this year’s edition of The Honda Classic. As has been the case since 2007, the event will be played at PGA National’s Champion course. The course is a par 70 that plays a little over 7,100 yards depending on the setup. Luckily for the field, they are off of the bumpy poa annua greens we’ve seen over the past month or so and onto TifEagle Bermudagrass this week. The greens are average in every way from speed to size but this course definitely has some teeth…....

PGA DFS: Top Plays, GPP Pivots and Ownership Projections for the WGC Mexico Championship

The Tour heads down to Mexico for the WGC Mexico Championship. Club de Golf Chapultepec is a par 71 course that plays right around 7,350 yards. It also features poa annua greens and kikuyu grass in the fairways and rough like Riviera last week. The course is at extreme altitude, though, so it will play shorter than the scorecard suggests. The event features just 72 golfers and there will be no cut. For a more in-depth course preview and a look at the trends, check out yesterday’s article…....

PGA DFS: WGC Mexico Championship Course Preview and Trends

The Tour heads south of the border this week for the WGC Mexico Championship. If you’ve seen the meme with two Spidermen pointing at each other, you know the deal between Riviera CC and Club de Golf Chapultepec this week. Chapultepec is another par 71 course that plays right around 7,350 yards. It also features poa annua greens and kikuyu grass in the fairways and rough. The course is at extreme altitude, though, so it plays much shorter than the scorecard suggests it will…....

PGA DFS: Genesis Open Course Preview and Trends

The Tour heads about five hours down the coast to Southern California for the Genesis Open this week. As usual, this event will be played at Riviera CC. In Riviera, we have a Par 71 course that plays just about 7,350 yards. Everything at Riviera is difficult to hit whether you’re talking about fairways or greens. The average course sees just about 64 percent of fairways and 63 percent of greens hit. Since 2010, those numbers are 53.6 percent and 55.7 percent, respectively. The course features poa annua grass greens but kikuyu for the rough and fairways. Over the past…...

PGA DFS: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Course Preview and Trends

We’re back for another event with a three-course rotation this week. This Pro-Am has been played on and off in some capacity dating back to 1948 at Pebble Beach when it was known as the Bing Crosby Pro-Am. Lloyd Mangrum won that event for you golf historians out there. It has seen different names and different courses since then but we’ve seen the same rotation since 2010. It’s important to understand how each course plays if you’re tackling a Showdown slate or perhaps betting FRL (first round leaders), but if you’re playing the week-long slate it helps to understand how…...
