Al Jefferson and Your Daily Hoops Cheatcodes* (4-15-13)

alas-jeffersonas-su-kamuoliu-61048471

This is going to be a post for all you daily fantasy basketball junkies. Daily hoops can be extremely exhausting due to the massive day-to-day swings in player usage and match ups so this will serve as a great place to start when constructing your lineup.

These lineups are specific to DraftStreet, Draft Day, and FanDuel, thus it’s important to note that the scoring and position requirements at these sites are slightly different. One player might offer more value at one site, but not another.

I’ve used our extremely useful apps (for DraftStreet go here, Draft Day here, and FanDuel here) as well as some personal strategy to create a lineup for each site. I’ll be putting up two lineups each day on a rotating basis (DS/DD on Monday, DD/FD on Tuesday, FD/DS on Wednesday, and so on). I encourage you to utilize the apps I linked to above as they are some of the most valuable tools available in the daily fantasy community.

Finally, you should not just blindly follow these lineups. Very often guys are ruled out as it gets closer to tip-off and player usage becomes clearer. There are tons of places to check for pregame updates, but I’ve found Rotoworld and Twitter searches work best for me.

Game Notes:

Before I get to the games, I want to tell you about a pretty cool promo we are rolling out, we are offering a free three-month subscription for anyone who makes a new deposit with one of our partner sites using the referral code “revlis” or by using one of the following links – DraftDay, DraftStreet, and FanDuel – once you make a deposit, enjoy your rotoViz subscription plus higher first-time deposit bonuses. To expedite the process, confirm your deposit by sending an email with your daily fantasy username to revlisfootball@gmail.com.

– We’ve reached an extremely dangerous time of the NBA season. Seemingly half the league will take the night off to rest so I can’t stress enough how important it is to be checking for updates all the way until games tip. A pretty good way to ensure you don’t get hit with a DNP is focusing on the teams who still have something to play for.

– I can’t believe I’m recommending multiple Bobcats, but watching Josh McRoberts nearly record a triple-double can do strange things to a person. Kemba Walker is red-hot and certainly capable of finishing the season with a couple monster games as is his backcourt-mate Gerald Henderson. One of the three should go off and all of them will be serviceable.

– Carmelo Anthony has already been given the night off, which opens the door for Chris Copeland. There’s always the risk that he goes ice cold from the field, but the Knicks draw Charlotte so ease your mind.

– The Jazz are one of those teams still fighting for a playoff spot (they need some help), but I’m not crazy about taking more than just Al Jefferson. He is coming off of a 58-fantasy point performance on Friday against the very same team he’s facing tonight. The only other Utah players you could talk me into would be Paul Millsap or Gordon Hayward, but I’m most likely passing on both.

– The Rockets are still in a tight battle with the Warriors for the 6th seed, which should mean the starters keep playing. Omer Asik doesn’t have any skills on offense, but his work on the glass and his 1.1 blocks per game give him nice value. The Suns have been one of the most charitable teams to opposing centers this season and especially generous to Mr. Asik, who went for 22 boards the last time these two teams faced off. Start him with confidence.

– The Heat will trot out their reserves on Monday and your guess is as good as mine as to which one will go off. Mike Miller has been known to take advantage of these kinds of opportunities though and I’m not going to be stashing more than one Miami player in any lineup tonight.

– Finally, I’m filling out my teams with Ricky Rubio, Beno Udrih and, a crowd favorite, Jimmy Butler. Again, be sure to stay up to date with all lineup news as it’s released and good luck.
