Jeff Green and Your Daily Hoops Cheatcodes* (4-1-13)

green

This is going to be a post for all you daily fantasy basketball junkies. Daily hoops can be extremely exhausting due to the massive day-to-day swings in player usage and match ups so this will serve as a great place to start when constructing your lineup.

These lineups are specific to DraftStreet, Draft Day, and FanDuel, thus it’s important to note that the scoring and position requirements at these sites are slightly different. One player might offer more value at one site, but not another.

I’ve used our extremely useful apps (for DraftStreet go here, Draft Day here, and FanDuel here) as well as some personal strategy to create a lineup for each site. I’ll be putting up two lineups each day on a rotating basis (DS/DD on Monday, DD/FD on Tuesday, FD/DS on Wednesday, and so on). I encourage you to utilize the apps I linked to above as they are some of the most valuable tools available in the daily fantasy community.

Finally, you should not just blindly follow these lineups. Very often guys are ruled out as it gets closer to tip-off and player usage becomes clearer. There are tons of places to check for pregame updates, but I’ve found Rotoworld and Twitter searches work best for me.

Game Notes:

Before I get to the games, I want to tell you about a pretty cool promo we are rolling out, we are offering a free three-month subscription for anyone who makes a new deposit with one of our partner sites using the referral code “revlis” or by using one of the following links – DraftDay, DraftStreet, and FanDuel – once you make a deposit, enjoy your rotoViz subscription plus higher first-time deposit bonuses. – Kevin Garnett is not expected back until Friday at the earliest and Paul Pierce will likely not play Monday after he rolled his ankle against the Knicks. That means Jeff Green becomes the go-to guy for the Celtics in a good matchup against Minnesota. He has exceeded the 30-fantasy point clip in each of his last four games and should have little trouble doing the same tonight. Jordan Crawford and Courtney Lee are also worth looks at cheaper salaries, as both will be in line for big minutes.

– James Harden missed the game against the Clippers on Saturday with a foot injury that he said has been bothering him all season. His status is still unclear for Monday, and my feeling is he will be back after just taking a rest day. However, if Harden were to sit, I would start Jeremy Lin in every single lineup I have. Chandler Parsons would deserve some consideration too.

– I can’t overstate how awesome of a tool our RotoViz app is for daily basketball. If you literally just started whomever the app spit you’d probably go at worst .500 over the long haul. Throw in some information the app can’t know about injuries and who’s seeing an increase in minutes and you’ve got yourself a legitimate system. Tonight the algorithm is going with Al Jefferson at home against the LaMarcus Aldridge-less Trailblazers.

– The Bucks-Bobcats came should be interesting from a fantasy perspective because both teams rank near the bottom of the league against opposing centers. That means Larry Sanders, Ersan Ilyasova, Josh McRoberts, and Bismack Biyombo are all decent options. On sites where rebounds are worth more (DraftDay), I’m leaning towards Sanders and on sites where one board is worth the same as one point (FanDuel), give me Ersan.

– Toronto has been the worst team in the league at defending big men over the last ten games, making Andre Drummond a great play as long as he gets the green light on the back end of two games in two nights.

– Kyrie Irving surprisingly returned from his injury on Sunday after just three weeks off. He played 28 minutes, and tallied 31 points, six assists and two rebounds while shooting 11-of-20 from the field. You might not get 40 minutes a night right now from Irving, but if I am getting close to 30, he should be able to hit value.
