New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton’s (hand) bruised hand will continue to keep him out of practice, but head coach Bill Belichick isn’t too concerned about Newton’s injury. “He’s doing all right. He won’t participate today, but he’s getting better,” Belichick said Thursday. Newton suffered a slight bone bruise in his right hand after hitting it on a helmet during organized team activities last Friday. The injury isn’t serious, but the Patriots won’t push him at this stage of the offseason. His injury will leave more repetitions for rookie Mac Jones, Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer this week. While Newton could compete with Jones in training camp, he’s expected to be the starter come Week 1. The former MVP didn’t look great last year in his first season in New England, but he should be more comfortable in Year 2 and he has more offensive weapons around him, making him a potential sleeper streaming QB.
