Combining Double-Anchor RB, WR Storm Tactics, ADP Value, and Tournament Upside in Best Ball Mania IV

Shawn Siegele breaks down all 18 picks from a Best Ball Mania IV draft on a team that balances ADP value, overall roster construction, and correlation plays.

In the previous Underdog Workshop, we looked at how to blend league-winning traits from 2021 and 2022 while capitalizing on the unique ADP environment of 2023. That team featured a double-anchor at RB but combined upside WRs with a borderline elite QB. Today’s lesson takes that one step further and asks how we can benefit from unique QB breakout options.

It’s important to know how to execute a variety of draft structures – to be able to maximize the value you can wring out of all of the potentially successful builds – because not every draft plan will be conducive to your individual room. Our Underdog draft series is focused on helping you thrive in all environments while capturing significant player value. Today’s squad features many of our favorite player targets at meaningful discounts. For an early preview of the Overall 2023 Draft Plan, make sure to check out this lesson.

This team was drafted with Ben Gretch as part of a recent episode of Stealing Bananas. Be sure to give the show a listen if you’re interested in how we made these decisions live.

Go Through His Clothes and Look for Loose Change: The Football Gods Scoff at the Ontological Proof

Week 8 was exciting and weird. The football gods made a statement about the quality of football Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams played in Washington and delivered a miracle finish to the NFL’s newest superstar. It wasn’t even the biggest karmic reckoning. Aaron Rodgers averaged 8.3 yards per attempt, threw two touchdowns, and didn’t turn the ball over. New York held the Patriots to 136…...
