We’re back with the running back advanced stats from Week 9. We’ve regularly examined the running back leaders (and laggards) in yards after contact and evasion rate to identify players and backfields to target or avoid. There’s more to running back fantasy points than the advanced stats, including their usage and efficiency, which provides important context, especially when in a committee.
We’ll use the Advanced Stats Explorer and other tools to analyze the notable players we want to buy or sell. Specifically, we’ll focus on yards before and after contact, the inputs for evasion rate, stuff rate, and the expected fantasy points. That will tell us how the offensive line might be affecting an RB and whether their volume might override their advanced stats if they struggle to force missed tackles.
Fighting for Yards After Contact
As we write this article, TreVeyon Henderson continued his rookie breakout performances. Henderson led all running backs with 11 yards after contact per attempt (YAC/Att) on 14 rush attempts. Unsurprisingly, Henderson boasts the most rush yards over expected per attempt at +6.7 in Week 10 compared to 0.7 in 2025. Wildly enough, Henderson averaged -0.5 yards before contact per attempt, though he shredded the Buccaneers’ run defense regardless.

Henderson flashed the explosive upside, with that boom-or-bust nature, given the high stuff rate while generating over 100% of his yards after contact in Week 10. There have been discussions about Henderson being more effective outside on zone rush concepts, and there’s data to support that thesis.
Henderson ranks first in yards per attempt and ninth in rushing success rate on zone rush concepts among 47 qualified running backs with 25 attempts. Furthermore, Henderson boasts the highest yards before contact per attempt on zone rush concepts.
