Target Projections: Marques Colston, Dwayne Bowe and other Late-Round Values

We’ve come to the final installment of my series going down the wider receiver ADP ranks comparing our staff composite target projections and historical data. I’ve already analyzed the top-12, 12-24, 25-36, 37-48, and this year’s rookie class. Lumping all that we haven’t covered into one final analysis: WR ranks 49-102.[1]This includes all WRs for whom we have composite target projections…. Membership Required You must...

3 Reasons Cole Beasley is a Perfect Late Round Fantasy Pick

If you’ve done any My Fantasy League MFL10’s this season, you know that the talent can really thin out at the end of a 20 round draft. This is true especially at wide receiver, a position where most teams have at least six players, and usually more. As a result, there are countless selections wasted at the end of every draft, “what the heck” picks…...

The Bipolar Offensive Coordinator; Subtitle: The Two Kyle Shanahans

Kevin Cole wrote a great post the other day where he questioned our collective staff projection of Matt Ryan. I think he was right on in terms of pointing out that we almost have to be too low on Ryan. Prior to Kevin’s post I had forecast Ryan for about 580 attempts. After Kevin’s post I went back into the Projection Machine and ended up…...

RotoViz Loves DeSean Jackson, is Also Too Low on DeSean Jackson

RotoViz has recently taken to using the Projection Machine to form composite staff projections, which are viewable in the Best Ball ADP App. Currently, DeSean Jackson is projected to finish as WR21 but is being drafted as WR26. So it’s already clear that we think Jackson is a bargain. But I think the writers doing the projections might actually be underselling Jackson. Here’s why: It’s All About Targets…...

Catching This Year’s Waiver Wire Star Before He Gets There

There may not be a more muddled backfield in the NFL than the New York Jets’. Finding fantasy value in Chan Gailey’s new offense seems like a difficult task. Target Projections: Eric Decker, Torrey Smith and the Rest of Tier Four

I’m working my way down the wide receiver ADP ranks comparing our staff composite target projections and historical data. I’ve already analyzed the top-12, 12-24, 25-36, and this year’s rookie class. Now, I’m moving to the fourth-tier WRs with positional ADP ranks of 37-48. The fourth tier includes the young (Breshad Perriman, DeVante Parker, and Davante Adams) the old (Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith, and Larry Fitzgerald),…...

All Aboard the Travis Kelce Fantasy Hype Train

Travis Kelce is currently the third tight end off the board in dynasty fantasy football drafts and the 44th player overall. Even as some are warning that the hype train is picking up too much speed for its own good, he could still be undervalued for a few reasons I’ll outline here…. The Rundown: Cleveland Running Backs, Denver Quarterbacks

Cleveland Running Backs Apparently, Cleveland wants to pass more to their running backs. On the one hand, they had a crappy wide receiver corps last year and still didn’t pass much to RBs, so keep that in mind. On the other hand, presumably even NFL coaches are capable of adapting. We’ll see. I do agree with Justin Bailey’s recent point that, whether running or receiving,…...

Why You Don’t Want to Pass on Arian Foster in 2015

Arian Foster has been a staple of the running back position for five years. Entering his age 29 season, many people are starting to doubt the veteran back, and he is slipping to the second round as the ninth RB drafted. I think that this is a big mistake, and that Foster is a player to target in all drafts at that price…. Membership Required You must...

Quick Hits: Are Matt Ryan and the Falcons Shaking Things Up on Offense?

“We’re not going to be passing 35-40 times a game,” #Falcons WR Roddy White said today. — D. Orlando Ledbetter (@DOrlandoAJC) June 14, 2015 The last two seasons, the Falcons have thrown the third-most pass attempts in the league, with 632 in 2014 and 659 in 2013. 5 Dynasty Sell-Highs and What You Could Get for Them

Dynasty leagues never end. If you’re like me, you’re constantly looking for trades, free agent pick-ups, and other ways to improve your team.
