At Florida’s pro day, Jacksonville Univ WR Andy Jones (1 of Cowboys UDFA signees) had 41.5-inch vertical jump, 11.1 in broad and ran 4.5 40.— Brandon George (@DMN_George) May 5, 2016
Jones also weighed in at 217 pounds per NFL Draft Scout. Just to give you some sense of how explosive those numbers make Jones, he would be pretty close to Allen Robinson’s pro day measurements.
Jones played at FCS Jacksonville University where he averaged just under 90 yards per game receiving last year. I mean it’s really probably pointless to talk about his production numbers considering that when we talk about small school players we have no idea where in the distribution those 90 yards/game would fit. Is it good, is it bad? Who knows?1
In any case, Jones has to be a long shot to make the Cowboys roster so this isn’t anything more than just a heads up that if you ever do start to hear Jones’ name, you can place him as the player who is explosive on the level of Allen Robinson and some other big names. I don’t expect him to ever make noise.
