San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (foot) is being activated off the Non-Football Injury list, which would make him eligible to play in Week 1. There had been questions all offseason about how long it would be before Samuel was healthy and able to return to the field, and while he might not be ready for a full workload, the fact that he won’t start the season on the Injured Reserve means he should be back very early. He’s a risky Week 1 option, but once healthy, Samuel is a solid WR2 option and the only real receiving threat at the wide receiver position in San Fran other than rookie first-rounder Brandon Aiyuk.
