Las Vegas Raiders running back Jalen Richard will open the 2020 regular season as the primary backup to Josh Jacobs, and he’s also in line to return punts on special teams. Richard’s third-down pass-catching role came into clearer focus when the team traded rookie Lynn Bowden Jr. to the Dolphins. Jacobs is expected to have a much bigger role in the passing game in his sophomore season, but don’t ignore the fact that Richard secured 36 receptions in 2019. Still, the 26-year-old probably won’t have standalone fantasy value, even in PPR leagues, unless Jacobs goes down with an injury. Even in a great matchup against Carolina in Week 1, Richard should be firmly planted on your benches in deeper leagues.
