New York Jets head coach Adam Gase ruled rookie wide receiver Denzel Mims out for Week 14 against the Seahawks. Mims left the team and is in Texas dealing with a family emergency. Even if he’s able to return in time for the game on Sunday, he won’t be eligible in time because of the league’s COVID-19 protocols. The 23-year-old didn’t play his first game until Week 7 and he has 19 catches for 324 yards on 36 targets over six games. In a bad Jets offense, Mims remains on waiver wires in most single-year formats. Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder should see more targets against Seattle as a result of Mims being inactive, with Vyncint Smith, Jeff Smith and Braxton Berrios fighting for scraps behind them.
