NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay predicts that both Washington Football Team running back J.D. McKissic and tight end Logan Thomas will see fewer targets in the passing game in 2021. McKissic had 110 targets last season, with Finlay projecting a 20 percent or more drop. Quarterbacks Alex Smith and Dwayne Haskins were too reliant on throwing to McKissic, with Ryan Fitzpatrick and/or Taylor Heinicke taking more chances downfield. Thomas also had 110 targets in 2020, but with more weapons available in the passing game, he should also see fewer looks. Don’t overspend on McKissic because of his surprise output last year. He’ll be more of a low-end RB3/flex in PPR leagues. Thomas should be more attractive at his position as a low-end TE1, just don’t expect him to finish in the top five.
