Miami Dolphins defensive back Xavien Howard officially requested to be traded by the Dolphins on Tuesday. He reported to training camp on Tuesday but is unhappy with his current contract situation. The All-Pro corner signed a five-year, $75.25 million contract extension with Miami in 2019. “The Dolphins refused anything we proposed,” said Howard. “That is why I feel the organization has dealt with me in good faith. I don’t feel valued or respected by the Dolphins. Just like they can take a business approach, so can I. That’s why I want to make it clear I’m not happy and have requested a trade.” It remains to be seen if Howard will be moved or have his current deal reworked. The 28-year-old was excellent in 2020, recording 10 interceptions and 20 pass defenses over 16 games. Stay tuned.
