The New York Giants upset Minnesota on Sunday in part because of the heroics of Isaiah Hodgins. So far only two receivers scored more fantasy points in the playoffs’ opening round. Among players with more than three targets, only T.J. Hockenson caught a higher percentage of the passes thrown his way.
Isaiah Hodgins’ Ascension
It probably comes as no surprise that this game represented a career high for Hodgins in receiving yards and fantasy points, but it’s not completely out of nowhere. Since Week 10, Hodgins leads the Giants receivers in catches and yards. He’s scored five touchdowns in his last six games.
There’s no question that the Giants are a little thin when it comes to receiving talent. This has opened up the space for Hodgins and Richie James to become Daniel Jones’ go-to weapons in recent weeks. But is Hodgins’ ascent only the result of a lack of competition?
