Josh Allen Remains Fantasy’s Safest Elite QB Despite No True Receiving Stars . . . And 2025 Could Finally Be the Year He Conquers Mahomes

Kevin Szafraniec explains how continuing to operate with Buffalo’s offensive blueprint from 2024 should keep Josh Allen’s elite fantasy production going for the foreseeable future and why 2025 could be the year he and the Bills get over the hump in the AFC.

Over the past five seasons, the Buffalo Bills have won five AFC East championships. During that span, they have made it to the divisional round every year, including two appearances in the AFC Championship game. However, in four of those five years, their season has been ended by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

After witnessing Tom Brady and Peyton Manning dominate the AFC for the better part of two decades to start the 2000s, it appears that they have passed the torch to Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen to carry on that same legacy for the foreseeable future. The presence of three perennial powerhouses in the AFC has created a yearly pressure cooker in the playoffs, where one small misstep can mean the difference between winning and losing. So far, Mahomes has stood supreme over his contemporaries, but chinks in the Chiefs’ armor have started to become more noticeable in recent seasons.

As the window of opportunity in the AFC begins to open further, the Bills have built up their roster to strike. After making strides under a new offensive direction last season, Allen has everything he needs to continue his elite ways in 2025. With Allen appearing to be one of the safest bets in all of fantasy, which of his Buffalo teammates are poised to ride alongside him in delivering championships to fantasy managers this season?

The Bills Went Up Early and Often in 2024

In 2024, we saw Buffalo’s explosive offense take another unlikely step forward, making them the no. 2 scoring team in the entire NFL. Despite the jump in scoring, the Bills actually averaged four fewer plays per game, hinting at a more efficient offense overall. Although the defense gave up an additional 3.4 points per game compared to 2023, this was not much of an issue given the fact that, on average, Buffalo outscored their opponents by 9.2 points per game.

Kevin Szafraniec analyzes the past six years of best ball ADP data in the Win Rate Explorer and compares it against running back PPR scoring to find out how accurately drafters are predicting team depth charts prior to the season.
