The Green Bay Packers released linebacker Christian Kirksey and offensive tackle Rick Wagner on Friday, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst. Kirksey started all 11 regular season games in which he appeared in during his one season with the team, and he finished tied for second on the team with 78 tackles (47 solo). He had the second-most tackles (281) in the NFL from 2016-17 with Cleveland, including a career-best 143 in 2016. Kirksey should land on his feet pretty quickly for the 2021 season. Wagner also played in just one season in Green Bay and appeared in 16 games (nine starts), including both playoff games. He helped the Packers rank tied for second in the league in sacks allowed (21) last season.
