Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick was one of the biggest surprises in 2020 after Courtland Sutton went down with a season-ending injury early in the season. He finished the year with 51 catches but posted 14.5 yards per catch. Patrick hauled in six touchdown passes and recorded 310 of his 742 yards on downfield strikes. The 27-year-old had a catch rate over expectation of +17.8 percent on deep targets, which was the third-highest mark in the NFL. Patrick also had 134 yards on sideline targets, which was the eighth-highest total in the league last year. It’s safe to say that he outperformed expectations, and his emergence gives Denver plenty of depth entering 2021. But with Sutton coming back from injury and Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler expected to do more in their second seasons, it’s unlikely that Patrick will come anywhere close to matching his numbers from last year.
