Is C.J. Stroud In for Another Disappointing Season? Offensive Lines and Their Fantasy Impact, Week 2

Thomas Emerick launches his weekly offensive line continuity series and reveals how these crucial trench battles could give you the perfect buy-low opportunities in Week 2.

Each week this column will update offensive line continuity totals and starting lineups for every team while highlighting a few developments that could impact fantasy outcomes. There’s no better time than September to text league mates and move players, and offensive lines could be one factor they underweight in hold/sell decisions.

I’ve assessed offensive line continuity over the past couple decades and index heavily on units that possess continuity in terms of both a season on the field and a full offseason together. Check out the earlier parts of this series on how offensive line continuity impacts offensive production. This new weekly in-season column factors this and evaluates turbulence in the trenches as the 2025 season progresses.

Offensive line continuity by team entering the 2025 season

It’s important not to over-index on Week 1 outcomes, particularly at a position where performance is uncommonly dependent on the menace lining across. But when it comes to bold fantasy football transactions, we’ll want to track and make calls off incomplete information. It’s exhilarating really, and down the road these trades can make the difference between fourth place and the alternate universe where you made that trade and won that league.

The three offensive lines entering Week 1 with a sole returning starter are very much worth a look heading into Week 2. Did you overpay for Nico Collins, Justin Jefferson, or TreVeyon Henderson? There are no definitive answers to be had at this stage of the season, but maybe it’s on your mind. One clue is in the performance of the turned-over offensive line.

Maybe Quinshon Judkins Isn’t the Real Problem in Cleveland: Offensive Lines and Their Fantasy Impacts, Week 16

Several offensive lines got blitzed with injuries last week and managed varying levels of success with plugging the leak. Meanwhile, Buffalo had the welcome return of RT Spencer Brown to max out their continuity with five year-over-year starters rolling in late December. This catalyzed the rally down 21 in snowy Foxborough: only two combined pressures came from the offensive tackle position, bookended by Brown (one hurry,…...

The Eagles’ OL Health Could Decide Fantasy Championships: Offensive Lines and Their Fantasy Impacts, Week 15

I put Kansas City on alert for a critical mass of injuries last week with Trey Smith, Josh Simmons, and Jawaan Taylor out for the Sunday nighter against Houston. The Eagles aren’t quite there yet, but it’s a situation to monitor. Landon Dickerson’s injury-marred year is disappointing, given that he was trending toward the discussion for best guard in the league. However, after a slow start, Dickerson did…...

How Much Can Mahomes Really Overcome? Offensive Lines and Their Fantasy Impacts, Week 14

Kansas City is on critical mass alert for injuries on the offensive line. That light flickered in the Super Bowl against Tampa Bay. It was less so injuries versus Philly last year and more quality of tackle play, which Josh Simmons had shored up earlier this season. However, the star rookie’s season went sideways, and he’s now on IR. Two KC stalwarts are doubtful for…...
