This Nearly Free Falcons’ Insurance-Policy Back Mirrors the Starter’s Advanced Metrics and Could Be Your Ultimate League Winner If Disaster Strikes

Kevin Szafraniec discusses whether any of Atlanta’s skill position players aside from Bijan Robinson and Drake London can become mainstays in starting lineups for fantasy managers in 2025. Is there a hidden gem lurking in Atlanta’s backfield?

Although Arthur Smith’s tenure in Atlanta felt like it endured for a lifetime, it in fact only lasted for three years. During that span, Smith effectively neutered the fantasy value of the team’s top playmakers, including three top-10 picks: Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts.

Without Smith, Robinson and London flourished. Both players proved their star power by finishing as top-five fantasy options at their respective positions in 2024. Pitts, on the other hand, continued to struggle amid decreasing playing time and questionable effort under a second coaching staff.

Still, two out of three isn’t bad, especially considering Robinson and London appear primed to repeat their success again this season. Unfortunately, they cannot do it alone and will need other players on the roster to step up if the Falcons want to take the next step toward bringing the NFC South crown back to Atlanta. As the Falcons’ young roster continues to evolve, which players are most likely to help Atlanta and fantasy managers alike make a playoff push in 2025?

One Small Step For Man, One Giant Step for Atlanta

The arrival of Morris as head coach resulted in a small improvement over the three straight 7-10 seasons Smith authored during his time leading the Falcons. Although Atlanta’s point differential still sat in the negative, it looks as though every facet of the team took somewhat of a step forward last season under the team’s new leadership.
