Over the last two seasons I’ve owned Stedman Bailey in two different dynasty leagues, and in both I eventually ended up trading him. I liked Bailey a lot as a prospect but after two seasons of minimal production I’ve been beginning to think it’s just never going to come together for him. So I decided to look into that. Incidentally, Markus Wheaton has in some ways had a very similar…...

In this article, I discuss the issue of whether Justin Forsett was the beneficiary of a lucky situation in Baltimore or a man who had seized an opportunity he has long been competing for. There are many doubters, with some reaching a legitimate conclusion considering we are speaking of a 5’8”, 197-pound running back that will turn 30 in October. Bounced Around, But Always Effective In his…...
Last year before the NFL Combine, I posted an ambitious two-part series on the thirty sleeper wide receivers almost no one was talking about—guys from whom I believed could emerge a player with a real chance of becoming the Miles Austin of the 2014 draft class. In Part 1, one of the guys I profiled was Jeff Janis, who eventually was drafted by the Packers…...

Chris Ivory hasn’t quite lived up to the hype since being called the Next Coming of Marshawn Lynch. While he flashed in a short stint with the New Orleans Saints and at times as a New York Jet, those are some big dreads to lock. After Chris Johnson was set free to further his career in beats, bad rhymes, and questionable decision-making, what can we expect from…...

Last year I was the conductor of the Aaron Dobson fantasy hype train and I rode that train all the way to… 38 receiving yards? What exactly happened? Did a lingering foot injury keep him from significant snaps? Was he merely outplayed by… Membership Required You must be a member to access this content.View Membership LevelsAlready a member? A lot has been written here and elsewhere about wide receiver size, and whether big wide receivers are more productive than smaller WRs. We know that heavier WRs tend to accrue more yards than their lighter counterparts, even after controlling for draft position. We also know that WRs taller than 6 feet 2 inches accounted for a majority of the double-digit touchdown reception seasons…...
Let’s get this out of the way: I don’t think Ty Montgomery is as good as a prospect, or will become as good as a pro, as Dez Bryant or Jordy Nelson. That said, while exploring my wide receiver database, I did notice something about Montgomery that may be cause for optimism and/or identify him as a unique playmaker. What is that thing, you ask? Punt…...

I really want to see Theo Riddick be successful. He plays for the Detroit Lions, my favorite team. He was a sixth round pick in 2013, so he’s got that underdog thing going for him. His huge performances in weeks 6 and 8 last year really helped out a few of my MFL10 teams. And to be honest, I think his name is pretty bad ass…...
