Giana Pacinelli provides QB streaming options, 2-QB plays, and overall QB rankings for Week 13 of the 2019 fantasy football season.
There is a lot to be thankful for this week, but mostly, bye weeks are over! Quarterback streaming is over, however. The quarterback merry-go-round spins on.
Case and point — last Sunday Mason Rudolph was benched in the second half for Devlin Hodges. After just three snaps, Hodges had more passing yards than Rudolph along with a touchdown. The Steelers will move forward Hodges in Week 13. Andy Dalton will also be under center again this Sunday, but I’ll touch on that in a bit.
Meanwhile, those of you who continued to use streamers Ryan Tannehill and Sam Darnold continued to see rewards as they were the top two fantasy QB performers this past week aside from human cheat code and eventual NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
Fortunately, my Week 12 picks all performed well enough to avoid the bench — though largely due to their legs. Jacoby Brissett’s modest 129 passing yards saved fantasy owners with an added 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Meanwhile, Jeff Driskel’s 207 passing yards and a touchdown were negated by his three interceptions, though he added another 63 yards on the ground. The future is here – and it’s the running quarterback.
If you managed to snag Baker Mayfield last week or were patient and held onto him, you have the quarterback we thought we were drafting all along. With three touchdowns in the first half, his fantasy output helped his owners. Mayfield’s fantasy ownership has now reached 62% and 82% in ESPN and Yahoo! leagues respectively, and he will remain an every-week starter for the remainder of the season.

2-QB Pick of the Week – Ryan Tannehill at IND
Ownership (Yahoo):
Ownership (ESPN):
GLSP: 18.8
Ryan Tannehill — our Week 12 QB2 — has reinvigorated the Titans offense since taking the starting job in Week 7. Since then, Tannehill’s weakest week has been 181 yards and two touchdowns (18.9 points) and yet he is still owned in just 15.3% of ESPN leagues. He currently holds the No. 3 spot in completion percentage, QBR and total points this season.
Though Tannehill will face a tough Colts secondary in Indianapolis this week, his upcoming matchups vs the Raiders and Texans make him a favorable “long-term” option down the home stretch and a low-risk option this week given his consistent weekly production.
Favorite Streamer – Nick Foles vs TB
Ownership (Yahoo):
Ownership (ESPN):
GLSP: 16.0
Though rather underwhelming last week against the Titans, Nick Foles is poised for a productive performance this week against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers defense has allowed the second-most points to the quarterback position this year, allowing an average 24.4 fantasy points per game and multiple QB1 outings.
Having lost four defensive backs to injury thus far, the secondary also lost starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting last week against Atlanta. The Buccaneers’ defense is hurting and primed for a shootout. You also can’t discount the fact that Jameis Winston will inevitably turn the ball over in plus territory for Foles to capitalize on. Foles has yet to produce a more than modest outing in his two starts since returning from injury, but the former Super Bowl MVP has thrown 95 passes in those games — making this matchup very tempting for those in a bind.
Bounceback Candidate – Andy Dalton at NYJ

Desperate times call for Dalton measures. After a three-week experiment with rookie Ryan Finley, the Bengals are still winless and have returned to ol’ faith-ish Andy Dalton. Though Dalton failed to get a win in his first eight games of the season, he did provide value from a fantasy perspective.
He put up four QB1 performances and averaged 19.6 fantasy points per game. He also leads the Bengals with three rushing touchdowns this season. While he’s not a burner like Lamar Jackson or a gifted runner like Josh Allen, he still has the ability to scramble and pick up some key first downs.
This is the Bengals’ first 0-11 start in their organization’s history. They are likely bringing back Dalton in an effort to avoid going winless, now that it seems like the first pick of next year’s draft is theirs even with a few victories. There are few more favorable bounceback matchups than this one against the Jets, who are allowing an average of 21.1 fantasy points to quarterbacks in the last five games despite shutting out Derek Carr last week. If you need a one-week fix in superflex or 2-QB leagues, Dalton should be an available and reasonable stopgap quarterback option.
