Consistent success in dynasty requires persistent replenishment of value. In this series, Jesse Cohen will spotlight unique opportunities and trade ideas for RV-influenced dynasty managers aiming to keep their Permanent Championship Windows open.
Back to the Start
Around this time last year we introduced the Dynasty Dealbook:
Operationally, the goal is to leverage your leaguemates’ short-term sentiments — maybe they are (over)reacting to what they saw last week or feeling a roster crunch — and the gaps between their perception and your own ranks. We do this by offering win-win trades that help them solve specific objectives, while our goal is simply to accrue value in the long term. We bet on career arcs [] to build a flexible and winning portfolio.
The focus of the first Dealbook was ascending First-Team All-Hype rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt. We warned against selling for a random second, though it felt like “good process” given JCM’s age and lack of pedigree, while highlighting other deal structures that could be more profitable.
Managers who followed that advice yielded a tidy return. If you missed the action, don’t worry — the pendulum of fantasy villainy has made Bill a bargain again.
