All season long Zachary Krueger will go in-depth with all of the key wide receiver performances. Providing weekly targets, air yards breakdowns, and fantasy points over expectation trends, he’ll help you dominate the waiver wire and make the best start/sit decisions in your upcoming fantasy football matchups.

Despite concerns surrounding a COVID-affected season, Week 1 of the NFL season went off without a hitch.

Seven days later, I missed the first 20 minutes of this week’s early games, and received so many injury notifications that I thought I’d be watching Russell Gage play quarterback at some point. Later in the day, Gage threw what would have been a touchdown pass had it not been dropped by Julio Jones, and I thought my nightmare had come to life.

Fortunately, that wasn’t quite the case, as Matt Ryan was one of the few players to escape Week 2 unscathed.

In a week that took Saquon Barkley and Courtland Sutton from us for the season, and Christian McCaffrey for the next several weeks, it’s hard to get excited about Week 3.

Nevertheless, we grind on. Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game, but they open doors to new players, analysis and processes. While this isn’t how we envision our year going during draft season, injuries are inevitable.

Despite the losses we may have suffered, bright spots do remain. Lost in the madness of yesterday’s games was the performance of Ben Roethlisberger, who appears set to put another young receiver on the path to WR1 glory. Additionally, the loss of Sutton gives way to two rookie WRs looking to establish themselves early in their careers.

And lastly, there’s something in the air in Carolina that has me loving the Panthers wide receivers.

All offseason, the Diontae Johnson hype seemed to reach one new high after another.

If you were participating in early season FFPC best ball drafts, chances are you are sitting in a good spot as we head into Week 3. After starting the best ball season as a double-digit round pick, Johnson’s FFPC best ball ADP settled at 108.4 overall (WR37). Currently sitting as the WR16  with 17.4 PPR per game after two weeks, Johnson appears set to outperform his ADP.

It’s still early in the season, but Johnson has been one of Roethlisberger’s favorite targets early on. Johnson led all Steelers WRs in Week 2 in targets (13) and points (23.2 PPR) and has outpaced JuJu Smith-Schuster in total targets 23 to 14 to start the season.

Johnson’s early emergence this season should come as no surprise to RotoViz subscribers. Jack Miller wrote about Johnson’s historic rookie year, calling it a sign of things to come.
