Week 4 Fantasy Football Kicker Streaming

The Process

Before I look to Week 4 it is important to observe if the selection process was effective. Here is a recap of last week’s recommendations. If you need a refresher on what to look for when analyzing kickers, read the Week 2 Fantasy Football Kicker Streaming article.

Name, Team

Stat Line Week 3 Position Rank
1 Brett Maher, Dallas Cowboys FG 1/2 XP 4/4 T-12
2 Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles FG 1/1 XP 3/3 T-16
3 Matt Bryant, Atlanta Falcons FG 1/1 XP 3/3 T-16
4 Joey Slye, Carolina Panthers FG 1/1 XP 5/5 T-10
5 Dan Bailey, Minnesota Vikings FG 2/2 XP 4/4 2

Not a great week, primarily because the kickers were kicking extra points instead of field goals. Part of the difficulty with streaming kickers is this very thing, but the process is sound, and the results will be there. At least all Ks were in the top half of the league.

Looking Ahead

This week, as most weeks, offers us yet another opportunity to stream the kicker position. Here is a look at a few of my favorite options.

Week 4 Streaming Options

All ownership percentages are based on Yahoo leagues.

People continue to ask which kicker I recommend the most, therefore I am switching up the format to prioritize my favorite streaming options rather than list them by ownership.

Favorite Options

1. Adam Vinatieri, Indianapolis Colts, 20%

The Colts have the fifth highest implied point total with 26 points and are playing at home in their domed Lucas Oil Stadium. Their opponent, the Oakland Raiders are 25th in pass defense which should put Vinatieri in a favorable position for field goal opportunities.

2. Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks, 44%

The Seahawks will not likely throw for 400 plus yards very often, but Russell Wilson likely could in Week 4 if given the opportunity. Ther matchup against the Arizona Cardinals is a good one as demonstrated by the RotoViz NFL Stats Explorer App. Only seven teams give up more passing yards, but the Cardinals defense is tied for ninth in red-zone defense, while allowing an average of four red-zone opportunities a game. This is a juicy combo!

3. Ty Long/Michael Badgley, Los Angeles Chargers, NA/8%

Facing the terrible Miami Dolphins is a dream matchup for fantasy. Honestly, if I knew who the K would be going into the week they might be my No. 1 recommendation. Badgley is recovering from a groin injury, and Long is not available in Yahoo leagues (he is however available in ESPN). This is the perfect opportunity for a Sunday morning pickup. The Chargers have a 30.5 implied point total, the highest for the week.

Process Option

This week I wanted to select a K based solely on process, completely disregarding the lack of production to date.

4. Aldrick Rosas, New York Giants, 10%

Rosas has only made two field goals on three attempts this year, not great. But streaming kickers has less to do with past performances and more to do with matchups. The Giants are three-point favorites against Washington with an implied total of 25, ninth on the week. As you are well aware, Saquon Barkley is out, which will limit the Giants’ red-zone efficiency. Washington allows the tenth most red-zone opportunities, so Rosas should be in store for a solid performance.

2019 Week 7 Tight End Streamers

The prospects of success for the Week 6 tight end streamers were slim going into the games. They got a hell of a lot slimmer with the news that Jets TE Chris Herndon had injured himself working out prior to his return from suspension, and wouldn’t actually play in Week 6.
