Before I look to Week 13 it is important to observe if the selection process was effective. Here is a recap of last week’s recommendations. If you need a refresher on what to look for when analyzing kickers, read the Week 2 Fantasy Football Kicker Streaming article.
|Name, Team||Stat Line||Week 10 Rank|
|1||Younghoe Koo, Atlanta Falcons||FG 3/3 XP 3/3||T – 4|
|2||Austin Seibert, Cleveland Browns||FG 2/2 XP 0/1||T – 3|
|3||Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles||FG 2/2 XP 3/3||T – 24|
|4||Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks||FG 1/1 XP 3/3||T – 20|
Well, if you selected one of the top two recommendations you were happy; the other two … not so much. The lack of scoring in the Seahawks-Eagles game was surprising. Week 13 offers a full slate of games and some island matchups that will undoubtedly lead to some turkey-day tilting.
Week 13 Streaming Options
All ownership percentages are based on Yahoo leagues. To ensure relevance, only kickers with ownership percentages less than 50% are used.
Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles, 22%
Sure the Eagles disappointed last week, but the Dolphins and Seahawks have little in common. This week’s matchup is about as tasty as it gets! The Dolphins give up the second-most points to kickers this year and the Eagles have an implied 27.25 point total, third-highest on the week. The Dolphins continue to give up passing yards, this is an easy one!
Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers, 42%
The New York Giants give up the seventh most field goal opportunities per game, and the Packers are in the top half of the league in red-zone scoring opportunities. Aaron Rodgers and company should get things rolling again this week in a much better matchup.
Josh Lambo, Jacksonville Jaguars, 35%
Recommending a Jaguars K is a little terrifying, if you can use one of the above options first. The Jaguars have not been consistent and if they are in a hole early, the kicking game could become irrelevant. Vegas, however, has the Jaguars as a 1.5 point favorite in a game with the second-highest Over/Under at 49. No team has allowed more field goals than Tampa Bay this season.
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks, 50%
Kicker on a favorite? Check. Kicker at home? Check. Predicted to be a close game? Check. High Over/Under? Check. Kicker on an offense that can move the ball downfield? Check.
The process checks out with Myers this week. The Seahawks seem unpredictable this season, but streaming Myers seems like a safe play, albeit with a lower ceiling than Elliott and Crosby.
