The Process

Before I look to Week 15, it is important to observe if the selection process was effective. Here is a recap of last week’s recommendations. If you need a refresher on what to look for when analyzing kickers, read the Week 2 Fantasy Football Kicker Streaming article.

Name, Team Stat Line Week 14 Rank
1 Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers FG 3/3 XP 3/3 T – 13
2 Dan Bailey, Minnesota Vikings FG 2/2 XP 0/1 T – 13
3 New England Kicker FG 2/2 XP 3/3 T – 25
4 Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers FG 1/1 XP 3/3 T – 5

I did not see the 21 point game from Jason Sanders in the crystal ball last week, but no one did as he was 0% owned. My goodness though, what a performance for him, and how bad are the Dolphins in the red zone?

It is the semi-finals for many of us, so let’s get right to it. Time for the best week yet!

Week 15 Streaming Options

All ownership percentages are based on Yahoo leagues. To ensure relevance, only kickers with ownership percentages less than 50% are used.

Favorite Options

Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers, 21%

The 49ers have the second-highest implied point total on the week at 28.75. The only reason Gould is even still this available is the fact that he has been battling injuries. He is my favorite streaming option this week, and very few highly owned kickers have a higher ceiling than him.  While the Falcons defense has improved of late, the 49ers have had no trouble moving the ball into the red zone against good defenses.

Daniel Carlson, Oakland Raiders, 9%

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awful of late. They have lost five games in a row, the closest of which was a 17 point loss.  In their last three games, they have given up an average of 38.3 points. Oakland is in the middle of the pack in red-zone touchdown percentage, so the possibility for a few short field goals is definitely in play.

Matt Gay, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 47%

The Lions are a favorable quarterback matchup, giving up the fourth-most pass yards per attempt. We know that Jameis Winston will be flinging the football over the place, and the passes that are not intercepted will get the Bucs in good field position. The Bucs also have a 25.5 implied point total, which is better than average.

Ryan Succop, Tennessee Titans, 1%

I wish I were more confident about this one. Maybe the nerves are getting to me because Succop is only hitting 20% of his field goals. In fact, he only has one made FG on the entire season. However, the Titans and Ryan Tannehill are on fire right now. They are a home favorite in the game with the highest point total expectation on the week.  Surprisingly, Tannehill has been nothing short of great since taking over in Week 6. The Titans will give Succop the opportunity to deliver, let’s just hope he doesn’t … wait for it … suck it up.
