So Close You Can Taste It: Fantasy Championship Week Tight End Streamers

It all comes down to this. Week 17 is fantasy football championship week. This is the final step on the journey that began back in August. (Unless you’re in one of those leagues that plays on until Week 18, in which case I salute you and am scared of you in equal measure.) Congratulations on beating the odds and making it this far. But don’t let up now. One more big push remains.

It would be best if you weren’t looking to do anything too drastically different than previous weeks this time round. Don’t overthink your lineup decisions. Don’t pass up the probable for the dramatically unlikely. But don’t pass up opportunities to make your teams better. This is especially true at the tight end spot. Some of the names I mention below are not only viable options this week, but they have been for several weeks. Now is not the time for heroics. Look to make the best of the chances these players can give you. It might be the difference between ultimate triumph, or utter disaster.

The stats below do not include players who played on Christmas Day.

Lead Writer, soft spot for the tight end position. Will never stop loving Duke Johnson.

Can Tyler Warren Return to his Early 2025 Form?

After years of middling production at the tight end spot, the Indianapolis Colts finally decided to spend some serious capital on the position in 2025. They used the 14th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Penn State TE Tyler Warren. After one season, how wise a decision does that look, and why should fantasy managers care? College Warren’s college career was not season after…...

Chig Okonkwo Might Not Have the Counting Stats, But the YAC Can Make Him a Dangerous Weapon

The Commanders, desperately in need of players to catch passes from (hopefully) Jayden Daniels in 2026, added former Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo in free agency. The former Maryland Terrapin signed a three-year pact with the Commanders. But does this change of scenery make Okonkwo an attractive fantasy proposition in 2026? Volume 2 of the 2026 RotoViz Rookie Draft Guide is out now! Jam-packed with comprehensive…...

Mike Evans’ Red Zone Prowess Should Keep Him Fantasy Relevant with the 49ers

An era came to an end in Tampa Bay, with one of the greatest players in Buccaneers history waving goodbye to the team in free agency. Mike Evans is off to San Francisco on a three-year, $42m deal, joining an interesting list of players who have donned both 49ers and Bucs red. (This list includes Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, and Jeff Garcia.) What does this…...
