When The Devy Breaks: 2019 Big-12 Opportunity Report

Opportunity is the most important factor to consider when analyzing fantasy football. Whether it’s at the NFL level or in college, the more pass attempts, carries, and targets that a player gets, the better. It’s far from an exact science. But last year’s opportunity reports highlighted the likes of Eno Benjamin, Jalen Reagor, Hakeem Butler, and Miles Sanders as targets in devy leagues set to see a boost in value. In last year’s set of articles I profiled two or three specific prospects at each position. This year I’m going to take a more holistic look at the opportunity landscape

3 Cheap WRs To Target In Devy Leagues Based On Early Breakout Age

Identifying early breakouts at the wide receiver position is among the most important pieces of information available for devy owners. Prospects that produce at a high level at a young age are better bets to succeed in the NFL, period. But at the risk of telling you what you probably already know — that you should be targeting the likes of Rondale Moore, Jalen Reagor, and Tylan Wallace in your devy leagues — I decided to dig a bit deeper. So today I’m going to highlight a trio of WRs, outside the top-100 in average draft position according to Devy

When The Devy Breaks: Mock Draft Breakdown

Last week I took part in a devy mock draft hosted by Greg Brandt from over at Devy Watch. It was a 12-team, PPR scoring, non-Superflex draft with a player pool consisting of 2020, 2021, and 2022 eligible prospects. Two of my fellow RotoViz writers, Travis May and Matt Wispe, also took part. My goal here is to walk you through the draft, round by round, explaining my thought process for the picks I made. I’ll also point out other options I considered as well as a time or two I was sniped. Hopefully this breakdown will give you

Capitalizing on RB Breakout Age: Two Studs And A Sleeper To Target In Devy Leagues

One of my favorite pre-draft articles from 2018 was Anthony Amico’s introduction to running back breakout age. We know how important breakout age is for wide receiver prospects. So it makes sense that age-adjusted production would hold similar merit for RBs. Amico defined breakout age as the age where a RB first crosses 130 adjusted all-purpose yards per game (AAPYPG). This metric is basically traditional all-purpose yards1 with an added emphasis on punt return yards. RBs that hit the desired threshold prior to turning 21 years old have secured at least one RB2 season in their first three NFL years
