Superflex Drafters Are Still Approaching The QB Position Wrong: How to Use the Win Rate Explorer and Roster Construction Explorer Together to Build a Superflex Juggernaut, Part 2

In Part 2 of this series, Kevin Szafraniec combines the power of RotoViz’s Win Rate Explorer and Roster Construction Explorer to uncover ways to boost the success of Superflex best ball teams via the quarterback position.

If you’re a RotoViz subscriber and aren’t taking advantage of our powerful suite of best ball tools, you are truly missing out. In Part 1 of this series, I gave a broad overview of a few of the features that the Best Ball Win Rate Explorer (WRE) has to offer.

This time around, we will spend more time under the hood while also incorporating the FFPC Roster Construction Explorer (RCE). For those who are unfamiliar, the RCE is a highly customizable tool that provides valuable roster-building insights while prepping for the best ball season or in real time as you navigate your way through a draft.

For our positional deep dives, we will kick things off at quarterback before moving on to running back, wide receiver, and tight end.

In order to replicate the scoring settings of the FFPC Superflex Best Ball Tournament, we will be looking at superflex slim drafts from the past six years. (Slim data in the Win Rate Explorer only goes back to 2020, but there is information on classic-style leagues going back to 2017.)

For those who may be unfamiliar with the FFPC Superflex Best Ball Tournament, each draft consists of 20 rounds, and starting rosters feature one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, one traditional flex spot, and one superflex spot. Scoring settings are TE-premium, meaning TEs are awarded 1.5 points per reception while every other position operates under normal PPR scoring.
